Philosophy
This is the Whitehorse Diving Club website. It is a collective effort by some of the Whitehorse Members. Thanks to everyone who has put in their two cents' worth! This website is a good example of how we enjoy a "family" atmosphere where everyone feels connected and welcomed. Each Whitehorse member is valued for their uniqueness, and their presence is a gift to us all.
Yes, we sound all philosophical! But what about the diving, you say! Well, we are a small diving club that prides itself in providing a positive and productive atmosphere where people of all ages can learn to dive in a safe, pleasant and rewarding environment.
Our aim is to have each diver leave a session feeling like they have achieved, grown, taken a step closer towards their goals. We take the time to discuss individual and realistic goals with each diver, then provide pathways for their goals to be met.
Each coach is individually chosen based on their philosophy, personality, knowledge, coaching and teaching expertise and people skills. We work as a team in ensuring that we provide a cohesive program focussing on technique and positive re-enforcement.
One of the things that people mention time and time again is how relaxed and happy the Whitehorse Divers are both at training and, particularly, at competition. This is part of our philosophy. We believe that the root of being competitive is simply performing at your best in any given situation. And this is what we focus on, rather than the others in the competition. As a result, we have happy, relaxed divers who perform personal bests in the majority of their competitions. It's about enjoying it, folks!
