The Coaches at Whitehordse Diving Club all share the same philosophy and positive coaching style the Club is know for. We believe that we not only teach the skills of diving, but strive to be positive role models who enhance divers' life skills. The Club's mentoring philosophy is carried through to coaching where divers are given the opportunity to learn the craft of coaching alongside their training.
Jenny Donnet is a four time Olympic diver and the first Australian woman in any sport to compete in four Olympic Games. She competed in three Commonwealth Games, taking a gold, silver and gold. Jenny now indulges her passion by coaching. Her official coaching career began at Whitehorse Diving Club in 1986. In 1987, she took her first team to the National Age Championships where they brought home a gold and a bronze. Since then, she has produced many state, national and international champions. She believes that a solid grass roots program, along with a positive attitude and coaching techniques that empower the diver, build the foundation for successful and enjoyable performance, whether that be for personal pleasure or at elite international standard.
Jennifer Donnet King
Jennifer is an integral part of the coaching team, being the First Coach. Jennifer's current role is to introduce children and teens to the joys and challenges of diving. Immersed in the sport since birth, Jennifer's empathy helps divers feel comfortable and confirdent, whilst her natural eye for diving belies her youth.
Jodie competed in the 1996 Olympic Games, was a silver medallist in the 1994 and 1998 Commonwealth Games, and represented Australia for over ten years. Jodie's sunny personality shines through in her vivacious coaching and communication.
A Master's World Champion, Marty's extensive experience as a coach has seen many national champions. Whitehorse is fortunate to have cajoled Marty out of retirement to lend his sunny personality and wealthy of knowledge to add weight to the quality of the coaching program.
Lachlan represented Australia as a junior diver and is a qualified Level 1 coach. Lachlan's particular insight and different perspective often opens up opportunities for divers to overcome fear and gain confidence.
Helen, from South Australia, is a Masters World Champion and an experienced coach with a keen eye for detail. Her attention to detail and technique shows in the posture and aplomb of each diver she coaches during her visits.
